HirShabelle State Leader Meets With International Representatives in Mogadishu
HirShabelle State leader Ali Hussein Gudlawe has held talks with representatives of the international community in Mogadishu.
Attending the meeting were UN envoy to Somali James Swan, AU envoy to Somalia Fransico Madeira, the UK Ambassador to Somalia Kate Foster and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and briefed them on the agreement reached on the electoral process.
”I met with representatives of the International Community based in Mogadishu to discuss security and humanitarian issues. The session focused on finding a solution to the flood in Jowhar,”
He also discussed the ongoing operations against Al-Shabaab fighters in Hirshabelle and suggested that AMISOM troops join the operation.
Gudlawe commended the efforts of the international community in supporting Somalia and called on them to stand by and respond to those affected by the Shabelle River floods and work together to address the scourge of floods and to build dams.
For their part, the International Community Representatives commended the achievements on Elections, Security and Humanitarian Affairs and stated that they will assist Hirshabelle in resolving the floods and providing humanitarian assistance.
