HirShabelle State Leader Arrives In Mogadishu For National Consultative Forum
HirShabelle State of Somalia President Ali Gudlawe has arrived in the capital of Mogadishu Saturday for the national consultative talks between the federal government and leaders of the five regional states to discuss electoral issues ahead of polls.
Mr. Gudlawe was welcomed at Aden Adde International Airport by senior government officials including Interior Minister Hassan Hundubey and other government dignitaries.
The other regional state leaders of Puntland, Jubaland, Southwest State and Galmudug arrived in Mogadishu from Wednesday to Thursday and were hosted by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble.
Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimu, the federal government spokesman said the electoral talks will kick off shortly and will be led by Prime Minister Roble.
”The National Consultative Summit btw Leaders from FGS & FMS is expected to kick off shortly in Mogadishu to achieve consensus-based agreement on the country’s elections with the bases of 17 Sep accord,” Moalimu said in a Twitter post.
”Summit led by PM Mohamed Hussein Roble and will be attended by Presidents of FMS & BRA governor.”
The national consultative forum was initially scheduled for Thursday but was pushed back to Saturday after some leaders failed to arrive on time.
