PM Roble urges youth to step up role in national rebuilding
Somali Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble on Saturday called on the country’s youth to strengthen their role in rebuilding the country as today marked Somali Youth Day.
In a statement, the premier said urged the Somali youth to take part in building a democratic state in the country.
”Congratulations on Somali Youth Day on May 15. I urge our youth to take part in the rebuilding & democratization of our country,” said Prime Minister Roble in a statement.
”You have innovative thinking which can contribute clear vision that can make change Somalia, just like the Somali Youth League heroes”
On 15 May every year, Somalia marks Somali Youth Day, an annual event that signifies the beginning of the struggle for independence by a group of young Somalis, who agitated for self-rule under the banner of the Somali Youth League (SYL).
Founded seventy-four years ago on 15 May 1943, the SYL became an instrumental organization in Somalia’s push for independence.
