Al-Shabaab claims suicide attack in near Somalia’s capital
At least 2 people were killed and 10 others when a bomb-laden car exploded at a checkpoint in the outskirts of Mogadishu on Wednesday.
The attack targeting custodial corps to place in the outskirts of Mogadishu in ex-control Afgoye.
A local elder who witnessed the attack told Radio Dalsan the explosion had killed 2 people including custodial corps. “A dusty saloon car was fired (on) as it started speeding up,” he said.
Al-shabaab militants who are fighting in Somalia over a decade to topple the central government claimed responsibility in an affiliated website.
The group linked to al-Qaida said they killed seven custodial corpses and wounded 13 others.
The attack by militant group comes as the capital city witnessed heavy clashes between pro-government and opposition forces in the past days.
