Somalia's Presidential aspirant Mohamed "Gandhi" Dies In France
Presidential aspirant and member of CPC Vice chairman Mohamed Abdi Gandhi has died in Paris, France on Sunday.
The cause of his death has not yet been pronounced, but he has been in the hospital for a while according to close friends.
He was the President of Azania (Jubaland) and one of the founders of Jubaland State. In July 2014, Gandhi was appointed as Somalia’s Ambassador to Canada.
He also served as defense Minister during the Transitional Federal Government (TFG)
He was currently a Member of Parliament for the lower house of the House of the People.
Prior to entering politics, he worked with UNDP Somalia and has been an active member of peace organizations.
Prof Gandhi was one of the most knowledgeable people in Somalia.
He authored 12 books and 50 articles on various research topics.
