“We thwarted ISIS attack on British Inmate,” Central Prisons says

Radio Dalsan

The top hierarchies at the Central Prisons have now come out guns blazing to refute claims that a British convict being held at the correctional facility had been attacked by ISIS members waiting for execution.

On Sunday reports from the correctional facility indicated that Anthony Thomas Cox, was wounded on the neck after the two men attacked him with razor blades as he watched a soccer match outside his cell room, according to prison guards who spoke to Radio Dalsan on condition of anonymity.

Mr Cox is serving jailed term after a Mogadishu court convicted him of putting public safety in danger and for failing to reveal possession of the explosive materials in his suitcase to the security forces. He had been arrested at the Aden Adde Airport on January 19 with tears canisters in is suitcase trying to sneak them into an Ethiopia bound aircraft.

But yesterday a senior officer only identified Chief Ahmed refuted claims that ISIS convicts attacked Mr Cox  at the correctional facility, arguing information destroys country’s image. He, however, admitted Dthat the members of the terror group attempted an attack but were thwarted.

After Radio Dalsan broke the news, there were angry reactions both locally and internationally as why members of the terror groups awaiting execution were mixed with other prisons. Most people took to twitter argued that mixing radicalized elements with other prisoners was reversing the gains made in stopping the terror group from indoctrinating others.
