Salaam Bank Staff Shot Dead In Mogadishu
Two people identified as employees of Salaam Bank Limited were on Saturday shot dead by unknkown assailants in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
The shooting occured at Darusalaam area on the outskirts of Mogadishu.
Salaam Bank is a business partner to Somalia’s leading telecommunication company Hormuud which has lost at least 14 emoloyees to similar shooting in the last three weeks.
Last week two Hormuud employees were shot dead at the Bakaara market area.
Initial investigations by Hormuud and Somalia security agents linked the killings to the pro Islamic state militant group in Somalia which is reported to have demanded for extortion money from the company.
Salaam Bank Limited is yet to issue an official statement about the Saturday killings.
