Federal Member of Parliament Ahmed Moalim Fiqi has found himself in trouble over remarks he made at a tv  interview where he threatened a return of civil war and an end to the Farmaajo presidency for alleged interference with Galmudug politics.

The lawmaker who hails from Galmudug warned Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo that central Somalia is was the waterloo of his predecessor Siad Barre who was ousted in 1991.

He is recorded as farther saying that if Farmajo failed to stop meddling in Galmudug affairs the local community will “come after his presidency in Mogadishu”.

Fiqi’s statement caused an uproar on social media among his fellow politicians with some accusing the Mp of hate speech.

Ali Warsame Haji a former presidential candidate and former Minister called Fiqi a “rogue” politician in a correspondence of war of words with the Mp on Twitter.

In reply Fiqi accused Haji of not having the authority to lecture him on the issue alleging the later had a dark past in the politics of Mudug.

Sagal Biixi MP from Jubbaland  warned that Fiqi statement were drums of war.

“This is a language that we all remember where it took us to and should not tolerate or allow anyone to use under any circumstances” Biixi said.
