Resiliant Owner of Bombed Restaurant Survived Similar Attack in 2014
Mariam Ahmed the owner of Banood restaurant that was targetted in a VBIED attack in Mogadishu has said she will not give up her business despite two attacks.
It has emerged that Mariam was injured in a similar attack in 2014 which targetted the same restaurant.
“I was injured in the 2014 explosion and was taken to Qatar for treatment” Mariam told Radio Dalsan in an interview.
6 people including Mariam were wounded in the 2014 attack and 13 injured.
But Mariam is a resiliant woman who despite Friday explosion she had by evening reopened the restaurant for business.
” I am a single mother wit four children. This restaurant is my only source of income. I will continue with its operation as usual” she told Radio Dalsan as customers were patronising the restaurant Friday night.
Mariam offered free food and drinks on Friday .
“It is the best way I can thank God for protecting me in the explosion” she said.
