Two US airstrikes have killed three Al-Shabaab militants in Southern Somalia on Tuesday AFRICOM has confirmed.
A statement from the AFRICOM said it strikes conducted two airstrikes in Jamaame and Deb Scinnele.
“These strikes targeted known al-Shabaab leaders involved in IED facilitation, fighter training, and attack planning,” said U.S. Air Force Maj.
The statement further said no civilians were injured or killed as a result of this operation.
The U.S has increased strikes against Al-Shabaab in recent months with 5 more than five airstrikes conducted since the beginning.
On Monday the US conducted an airstrike in Tiyeglow Bakool region.
According to pro-Al-Shabaab media, the airstrike destroyed Radio Andalus.
The US Africa Command (Africom) confirmed carrying out airstrikes in the area but did not confirm destroying Al-Shabaab’s radio.
