Seven Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) have been killed when their vehicle drove over an improvised explosive device in Southern Somalia.
According to residents, Kenya Defence Forces officers died after their one of their military vehicle ran over an improvised explosive device on Hosingow of Lower Jubba region of southern Somalia.
The number of casualties remains scanty but locals confirmed that the vehicle was extensively damaged.
No group has claimed responsibility but a number of security personnel have died as a result of the landmine attacks, including IEDs placed on roadsides by Al-Shabaab militants.
The attack comes barely three days after two military vehicles belonging to KDF hit IEDs suspected to have been planted by al-Shabaab along Tabdha-Dhobley road of Lower Jubba region on Saturday
Kenyan forces operate in sector three which covers Gedo region down to Kismayu under AMISOM.
