HirShabelle president arrives in Mogadishu over Beledweyne issue

 A delegation led by HirShabelle State President Ali Abdullahi Hussein Gudlawe has arrived in the capital Mogadishu on Friday.

Gudlawe and his deligation were welcomed at the airport by Mayor of Mogadishu who also doubles as the Governor of Benadir Region, former President of HirShabelle, ministers and MPs and other senior government officials.

It his his first visit to Mogadishu since he was elected into office in November last year.

The meeting with top federal government officials will discuss the situation in Baladweyne according to sources.

He was elected with 86 votes against the 13 votes garnered by his opponent, Abdirahman Jimale Osman.

HirShabelle is one of the five federal states which were formed after years of conflict and it’s regional capital is situated in Jowhar.

Other states include Puntland, Galmudug, Jubaland and Southwest state.
