Led a delegation of Kenyan Parliamentarians to the inaugural celebration of President Ahmed Mohamed Islam of the Jubaland State of Somalia for a second term in office.
Urged the regional leaders and Somali federal Government led by President Mohamed Abdullahi (Farmajo) to forge unity of purpose and put the interest of the Somali people above personal interest and begin a path of reconciliation and partnership between the federal Government and Jubbaland administration.
For Kenya, our interest in Jubabaland which we share over 800km border is underpinned on our National security interest and that of the East Africa region.
Kenya more than any other country have over the years invested in the security and stability of Somalia where all previous administration and reconciliation were done in Mbagathi and Eldoret and made thousands of Somalis their second home.
The Kenya delegation included Senator Haji and other members of the Defense and Foreign relation committee of both houses.
