Two people died while three others escaped with serious injuries in Somalia capital Mogadishu’s Tuesday evening car bomb explosion.
It is suspected that an the explosive was fitted on the car in which the foreign nationals were travelling. Three doctors were part of the team that was caught in the incident at Sodonka Avenue.
The doctors had taken time off work to play soccer near their offices, and it is suspected that the perpetrators took the chance plant the explosive.
Although by early evening no group had taken responsibility for the action, it is suspected that Al-Shabab was involved.
In the past week, they have intensified attacks in Kenya and Somalia, targeting civilians and military installations.
