WHO Female Aid Worker Shot Dead In Mogadishu While Shopping For Her Wedding

A female aid worker was on Tuesday shot dead by unknown assailants in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

The deceased has been identified as Maryan Abdullahi.

Ms Abdullahi is said to be a local staff working for the UN aid agency World Health Organisation (WHO) as a Logistics officer for polio vaccinations in Somalia.

The incident occured at the Baqara market where she had gone to do shopping for her upcoming wedding.

Somalia´s Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the killing after its agents collected the body for preservation and probe.

No group has claimed responsibility for her death.
