A newly wedded couple was on Saturday killed after lightning hit them during their first day of honeymoon in a remote Central Somalia village near AbudWaaq in the Galmudug State, Radio Dalsan reports.
The couple was identified as Fadumo Abdi and Rage Aden of Raades Village.
“We are still in shock” Abdi the father to the bride Fatuma told Radio Dalsan in an interview.
“The two were in their room it was their honeymoon. We had crying immediately after the lightening that followed the heavy rains. My daughter was one of those crying of help. She died” Abdi said.
According to Abdi the villagers had complained of “headaches” following the 10pm Saturday night lightning.
