Suspected militants on Thursday evening shot dead a youth leader in the Somali capital Mogadishu in a surge of assassinations that have been reported since the start of the Muslim month of Ramadan.
The deceased is identified as Abdiweli Ahmed Mohamed the Youth Chairman Warta Nabadda District.
He was on his way home from work when he was attacked by two men with pistols.
No group has claimed responsibility for the killing of Mohamed.
At least 13 people have been shot dead in Mogadishu alone since the start of Ramadan.
